At long last some crafting.

Hi everyone.

I do apologise for not posting any cards since 2011.

2012 began with me starting a new Job and my hubby having to be admitted to hospital for an operation. That should not have stopped me crafting, but,given the need to attend to his convalesence, it did.

I suppose I need to be truthful and say that I did not want to go into my craft room. The main reason for this was because it was in a real mess, and it needed sorting out. I took the decision to go and clean it out but once I was in there I got stuck into some crafting Again!!!!

I made some room to craft and then made these three cards from a stamp set called Fruit and Flowers on page 14 of the Spring Mini.

I used the wide striped grosgrain ribbon that you can find on page 107 of the 2012 catalogue. I have not put any sentiment on these cards. My thinking is that I could do this when I need to use one of my creations.

Triple layer punch

I offer workshops and demonstrations all focused on the fabulous papercrafting products Stampin' Up! has to offer.
As an independent demonstrator of Stampin' Up! I am here to showcase Stampin' Up! products, share special offers and give you project idea's.

Triple Layer Punch
Punches have come along way from the simple circles and sqaures, the new manufacturing technologies make it possible to produce punches with detailed, intricate designs and more options than just a single image.

The Triple layer punch is the perfect example, this punch lets you create three different images with one punch at a cost a little more than for one.
You can check the triple layer punch out on page 117 of the current cataloque.

This is the Doily punch its got three images and the shapes in each punch are designed to layer with reach other, so you could punch punch all three images and use them together, but you can also use them on their own.

Here goes.
To get each of the shapes you slide the selector button on the punch along to the design you want, making sure the selector button is locked into place before punching.
Place your punch on a flat surface, insert your paper or cardstock and press down, you'll feel the punch depress as many times as your selector indicates, that is, if you've selected the first image, you should feel it punch once and the punch will depress a small amount.
If you select the second image, you should feel it punch twice and the punch will depress about half way down, and then finally, if you selected the third image, you should feel the punch three times and it will depress all the way to the bottom.
I have punched out the three images for you to see below, remember you cannuse these images singularly or layer.

Contempo Christmas

For this Christmas card Cherry Cobbler Cardstock was used and Cherry Cobbler seam binding for the bow.

Very Vanilla, Early Expresso and Crumb Cake cardstock were combined and Early Expresso ink for the Bauble. Cherry Cobbler ink coloured the Merry Christmas. The bauble and the words are from the stamp set Contempo Christmas.

Back from Stampin Up Convention.

The picture is of the stage in the hotel that Stampin Up used for the 2 days.
I went to the Stampin Up Convention in Paris with my good friends, we left on Thursday the 17th and returned on the 20th November 2011.

We all had a great time meeting other demonstrators from the UK/France and Germany, and i would like to say thankyou to Beka and Moni for my gifts they are fab.

Christmas card

For this card i used white and real red cardstock.

I then used the SU Blossom petal builder punch on page 119 of the current catalogue, to make my baubles

The stamp set i used was SU Contempo christmas on page 25 also from the current catalogue.

Purse card

This card was made using SU black and real red cardstock.

The SU top note die, white paper for the inside.

For the patern on the purse I made by dabbing my versamark pad all over

the purse, then I covered the area with clear embossing powder.

I then took my bone folder and made a pattern by running it along

the purse, when i was happy with the pattern I made sure all the embossing

powder that was loose was knocked off and then i heat embossed.

I ran a SU wheel down the inside of the card in real red to match the outside,

placed a velcro dot on the top to keep it closed and added a SU brad to the outside

to make it a little more attractive.

A very versatile stamp set.

When I saw the Pennant Parade Stamp set and Petite Pennants Builder Punch in the new Catalogue I new that it would be a fab set to have because it would be so versatile.

I played with it for a little while and came up with these just to give you an idea of what you can do with this set. You can find the stamp set on page 37 and can buy it in clear or wood. The punch is to be found on page 119.

Top Note Die handbag and cards

This bag was made with a top note die and a small box put together. These elements made a bag. I added SU double sided papers to decorate the bottom of the bag. The top of the bag is embossed with a faux skin pattern.

To finish I used the same SU designer papers to decorate the 3x3cards that go inside the handbag.

Big changes and a new catalogue!

I am so genuinely excited about the changes that have been made at Stampin' Up! this month that I can't type fast enough!!

First and foremost is the shiny new catalogue, released on the 1st October 2011. A whole 133 pages of ideas and inspiration plus some of the most gorgeous new stamp sets ever! Normally I'd rave about all the ideas it will give you for your cards and papercrafting, but this catalogue has something new and even more amazing than that...

Hello there!! WOW did you enjoy the GNPE show this weekend? I bet you had a great time, spent loads and got enough inspiration to last you months and months.

I loved meeting with so many of you and talking about all things crafty and I wanted to take this opportunity to THANK YOU SO MUCH for stopping by our stand and making our day with your wonderful comments about how lovely the stand looked. You all commented on how beautiful all the samples looked and we knew you enjoyed it as so many came back for more than one look. You spotted the advantage of our fabulous product coordination across the range and this is why we love this company so much ourselves.

Many of you have recognized Moni and Jo from last year and they recognized loads of you as well and so many have asked for more information about our products.

For this card i used SU Crumb cake cardstock.for the card base.

I used SU Rich Razzelberry cardstock and SU Pretty in Pink cardstock.

Then I stamped on SU Whisper White cardstock, the SU stamp set I used was Crazy for Cupcakes.

And to finish of the card i used SU 1.1/4 Pretty in Pink striped Grossgrain ribbon and a SU clear Rhinestone brad.

My Dog.

The dog was made using SU punches.
I used the SU 2 x 1 3/8 extra large oval punch, SU 1.3/4 x 7/8 large oval punch these can be found on page 105.
I also used the 1 3/4 extra large circle punch, SU 1 3/8 large circle punch, plus 3/4 circle punch these can be found on page 106.

This little fella was quick to make and i enjoyed making him, I hope that some of you will give it ago making your own dog card.

Simple card using SU punches.

For this card I used the SU two step bird punch and the SU fancy flower extra large punch. Both punches can be found on page 104 of the current cataloge. The last SU punch used was 1 1/4 circle that you can find on page 106.

I added a clear button to finish it off, and then I stamped thank you from the SU Curly Cute stamp set on page 75.

Wedding Cards using all SU products.

Whilst I was in Australia my son asked his partner, Kyra, the mother of his beautiful son Joshua, to marry him. Kyra said yes she would but she would like to come back to the UK for the wedding.

We spoke about things and I said that I could make the favour boxes and the invites for them. Kyra said that she would like baby pink so once I returned to the UK I looked at my Stampin Up colours and decided that if I used the 3 pinks and let Kyra choose which colour she liked, I was sure to get the pink she wanted.

I used Blushing Bride, Pretty in Pink and Pink Pirquette to make all below and then gave Kyra the choice. Kyra said that Pink Pirquette was her favourite. I then gave her the choice of the two cards below she picked the one below.

The favour box below was made using the pillow box die. The decorative label punch and the embosslits die (beautiful wings), all of which can be found in the mini catalogue until 30th September 2011.

So maybe you know someone getting married and wants to save themselves some cash. They could make the items using the information given here on my blog and save themselves money.

Kyra said that she liked the card directly above but she thought it would be of better use for someone older who might prefer a more classical appearance. If you would like any further information please do not hesitate to contact me.

This is another Stampin' Up Demonstrator in Merriwa W.A.

The lady who is facing the camera is Myjalessa Hill who is a Stampin' Up demonstrator.

I made contact with the lady on the left, who is called Margaret, and she told me that the ladies meet up on a Thursday evening and that she would pick me up.

I met a number of other ladies that night and have to say I learnt many things that evening, and would like to say thank you to Myjalessa for allowing me to have the run of her craft room, and also for passing on lots of information. Also, thankyou to Margaret for being so helpful and making that night happen. I wish you all the best with the chocolate buisness. A thankyou to all the ladies for making me feel so welcome and I do hope to meet up with you all again.

That is the end of my crafting times whilst I was in Perth, Western Australia. Thanks for taking the time to look at my blog. I do appreciate it.

Craft Night in Perth

The photo above is Lousie Layton. She is the lady sat on the right. Louise is a Stampin Up Demonstrator in Perth W.A.
My sister was already a friend of Louise so she asked her if she could get some girls together, so Louise asked some ladies and we had a free for all.
Louise gave us choices and me my sister and my friend decided to do a couple of items that Louise had already done, some other ladies decided to do something else so Louise assisted us all to make our craft items.

My sister, my friend and I decided to use the cup cake stamp set and punch, the picture above is what we made with those items.

Last of all is the butterfly card that we really enjoyed. We used the big shot and a big shot die to get the three layered butterflies.

We stamped and then bleached the butterfly to get the pattern.

I would like to say a big thankyou to Louise for organising the evening, and letting me wander through her craft room. We all had a great night hope to do it again.

Like I said to you all earlier in my blogging I was unable to get the photos from my mobile phone so I would up date you with a couple of things when I got back. Firstly I will tell you about a SU demo
Anne Girlach who was having a class making a cupcake gift card holder.

The picture below is my sister's daughter in law Kerry who had never crafted before and decided to have a go and really enjoyed herself.

The next picture is of my sister Jan who everyone thinks would have been the crafter in our family but she says that due to working with kindergarten kids it does not do anything for her and she will stick to playing poker, but she said she enjoyed the afternoon also.

Next is a picture that i took but is not very clear but this is of Anne and some of the other ladies she had crafting that day with us.

And last but not least this is my cupcake gift card holder finished for you all to see.

Its been a good few days since i was on here but my son still does not have the internet, so i can only go on here when i am at my sister's house.
Firstly i will tell you about my grandson and i are having great fun, i have some pictures on my phone but cannot get them off my phone, but will try and get my son to send some to my email address so i can post on here.
I am so much enjoying my time with Joshua and he now comes up to me and reaches out for me to pick him up or holds out his hand for me to hold it, and it just feels good but then on a night when i lay in bed i think about saying bye and feel so sad, that i have just built our relationship again.
I have found a craft class in South lakes this is south of the river and my sister is north, but i have booked on to it my sister and my sisters daughter in law to be are also coming along with me.
Its on Sunday the 17th July and i am so looking forward to meeting new people and crafting, i will update you as soon as i can with how its gone and what we made.
I have also made arrangements to meet a lady from SU and her up line on Thursday the 21st July, plus my sister's been intouch with a teacher at her school who's daughter is a SU demo and she is going to organise something.
So next time i come on here i should have plenty to talk about and pictures to show you all.
Have to go now my sister wants to go shopping.

Perth Western Australia

Well i arrived in Perth last night, went to see my son and his partner Kyra for a couple of hours and then came home.
Arranged to meet Kyra and my Grandson Joshua at 11am, i was still in bed at 10.50 am could not believe it when my sister knocked on the door and told me the time, it was windy and teaming down with rain.
Went to meet up with them and Joshua was fast asleep but not for long, he had forgotten me i could tell how he was looking at me so i sat playing with him on the floor for 15mins then i thought i would get hold and give him a big hug.
He cried his little heart out I was a little upset but i soon got over it and so now we are going to build our relationship again, life can be so hard for families living such distances apart, you would think i would be used to it but i don't think i will ever be.

This card was made using all SU products.

The card base is Rich Razzleberry

Very Vanilla cardstock was embossed using Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder from the mini catalogue.

Then i used the 1 1/4 square punch and punched out 4 Rich Razzleberry and 4 Designer Series paper from the mini catalogue.

The thank you very much is from a retired stamp set and I do not have the name, using Very Vanilla and Rich Razzelberry i punched out the Decorative label punch.

Baptism card

I made this baptism card using SU Whisper White cardstock for the base.

I stamped a cross and embossed it then cut it out. The cross came from the SU Special Blessing stamp. The card for the cross and background is SU Pink Pirquett.

I then wrapped SU white ribbon round the cross. Words are from the set I mentioned above stamped on a cut out of SU Modern Label Extra Large.

I have been busy with life the last few weeks and not had much time to craft, and to be honest I seem to have lost that buzz. It may be because of all the things I have been trying to sort out in my life. My problem is that if I believe something is worth fighting for then I will go for it and not stop until I am satisfied.

Some of you that know that last year I was trying to sort my dad's life and things went from bad to worse and we lost him. Well I have been trying to sort out how my father was treated. I wrote to all concerned, until we could go no further without us going to a lawyer and they said that could be in the excess of £10 to £15 thousand pounds. But I was not happy with the replies from these companies and from 2 councils so I took it to my MP and gave him all the paperwork and believe me there was some. I got a letter back last week telling me to take it to the ombudsman, I have had dealings with the ombudsman before and feel that when it comes to councils and big companies they don't seem to investigate. That is one part of my life that's been taking up lots of time and the other started almost 5 years ago after we had bought the Barratt house we now live in, and having found out a number of different things on the new estate we started to look into it deeper. Things started to come up when talking to different people anyway we got together after almost a year and went to see our MP at the time John Grogan and told him all the things we had found out he eventually made an appointment for us to meet with the big boss of Barratt York this took a good few months to organise. The night that he was suppose to come he never turned up. We never got the answers from Barratt and John Grogan was useless lots of people ended up giving up because it was taking up time that they were not prepared to give with busy schedules, myself and another owner occupier have kept it going the reason been that we have an estate that has 84 houses on it and only 18 of those houses are owner occupied. We have had lots of problems with tenants, children of tenants, landlords also that do not care what happens on here as long as they get rent each and every week. Some of the owners have been wanting to leave because of the estate looking run down, but cannot sell without willing to take a loss of £60. 000.
The above takes up many hours of my time trying to get things done by the council and the highways plus the landlords and tenants, people ask me why I am still on with it after all these years but I still think someone is responsible for how the estate ended up, knowing that the council lost the plans and Barratt say they have not got plans also this makes me something is not right with it all. Last week we took this to the new MP Nigel Adams and showed him told him what we had found out over the years, he advised us to go to the Ombudsman we told him we had done that, the reply from the Ombudsman was that we had not suffered that badly for him to take it any further. How much does one have to suffer to get some help is what I ask, Nigel then said if we had done that it would be a good thing for us to go see a planning lawyer. And that the planning lawyer would look at what we have and tell us if it would be worth going forward or not but this is at a cost of £750.00 to a £1000.00, that would have to be paid by us. So big decisions to be made on 2 things plus another but will tell you that one a little later.
I quickly made a card out of the flower daisy bigz die its on page 7 of the SU mini catalogue. I used SU whisper white card stock, not sure about the yellow card stock it was among lots of old card stock that is either SU retired or purchased from someone else many moons ago.

A Black base cardstock and lots of scrap bits from my never ending supply of bits.

I have a box of scrap bits odd cardstock that I keep just in case. To be honest I hardly ever go in it,

so at the weekend I was having a move round and thought this is not good it had out grown that box. Now I have 2 boxes of scrap bits so I made a couple of cards like this one using up my left over bits.

Fun Flowers (Bigz L Dies)

This card is made using the exclusive SU Fun Flower Die to make my friend's birthday card.

I used SU 'In colours' to make this card.

You may have noticed I have used these colours many times in the last couple of months.

This is because I really like them and I think that they look well together.

The stamp set used for the leaves is Vintage Vogue on page 62 of the catalogue.

Birthday Wishes is from a retired set. The SU punch used is a modern label punch.

A Birthday Card

For this card I used SU Concord Crush for the base.

I used the SU scalloped trim border punch on the SU Blushing Bride cardstock.

Then I used a piece of SU designer paper from the hostess (level 1) in colour.

With a piece of SU Whisper White I used the SU Sqaure Lattice embossing folder.

The SU stamp set I used was Hearts with SU inks Peach Parfait, Pear Pizzazz and Blushing Bride.

The words in the SU scalloped Oval are not SU.

Last I put a SU designer brad and Whisper White Ribbon.

Saturday 16th April All Day Craft Event

12 ladies attended a whole day crafting event

organised by my friend Jo and I.

The day had been planned for 14 people but,

unfortunately two of the ladies were unwell so they could not attend.

They were sent their goody bags after the event

and full instructions how to create the projects we did.

Busy making one of the projects.

This card was made using three colours.

Riding hood red cardstock for base of card, whisper white card stock embossed with the doted embossing folder.

Certainly celery cardstock came next and i used the scalloped edge punch and the corner punch, whisper white cardstock that was embossed came next this was embossed with the sqaure latice embossing folder.

Next i stamped the baby blossom frame with riding hood red cut it out and also cut out a piece of riding hood red cardstock to match the frame to lay under the stamped frame.

The last thing i did was add some ribbon.

My friend Jackie and I decided to take a ride over to Boston Spa to look at the shops and have lunch.

We bumped into a young guy that told us that he and his mates were doing some building work on a house and it was lunch time so they were having a bbq and that one of the guys had been dared to dress like a waiter.

To raise funds for charity, he asked Jackie and I if we would like to have our photo taken with him.

We both said its not every day a young sparcley dressed guy ask's 2 Grandma's if they would like a picture.

Another Birthday card

I made this card for my grandson who was 9 years old last weekend.

His favourite colour is Orange, so I used Pumpkin pie for the base card.

I stamped on Whisper White cardstock using the football and football boot from the SU stamp set Goal.

The Birthday wishes on this card comes from the SU stamp set Afterthoughts.

Mothers Day Card.

For this Mothers day card I used 3out of the 5 In Colours which are Concord Crush, Poppy Parade and Peach Parfait you can find these colours on page 81of our current catalogue.

I have used the In Colours for the last 3 of my cards, the reason for this is just to show how these colours go together so well.

The Stamp set used for this card was Vintage Vogue for the Flowers,this can be found on page 62 of our catalogue.

I used a stamp my Mothers Day Greeting from a set that's got no name on.

The ribbon was Whisper White 1/4 gross grain you can find on page 97 with lots of other types of ribbons.

The rhinestones I used are the basic rhinestones on page 99.

I used SU Crumb cake cardstock for my base card.

Then I used the designer Series Paper -In colour (Hostess level 1).

The colours I used are the Pear Pizzazz, Concord Crush, Peach Parfait and So Saffron.

The punches used are scalloped edge boarder punch, scalloped Square punch.

Another Birthday card/

This card was made by using pear pizzazz as the base card.

I cut a strip of whisper white cardstock at 2ins, used the solid stripe stamp on page 60.

To colour in my stripe I used pear pizzazz, so saffron, blushing bride and pacific point ink.

I used the stamp set Hopeful Thoughts on page 73. The tree is stamped with pear pizzazz.

I used the boho blossom punch on page105 and punched out flowers in the colours used earlier.

I only used the small flower out the three punched out.

I used the Curly Cute stamp set for happy birthday with Melon Mambo ink pad.

The Boho Blossom punch was used to punch out the flowers. A rhinestone is added to each flower.

Lots of Birthdays coming up this week, this is one of a few.

SU Training at leeds

Went to a Stampin' Up! training event that was held on Saturday we have a number of various training events throught the year. One of many good things about these events is we get to meet up with lots of other demonstrators, around the Country and make lots of new friends.
Another good thing is that we make swaps to exchange with one another and these are what i came home with, lots of great cards etc and of course new ideas, thanks ladies for all your cards/ projects they are great and i will be learning from them.

This set is another one I bought and never used so today I put it to use.

The base card was Daffodil Delight cardstock, then I added Tangerine Tango on top of the base card then I wrapped a piece of ribbon around and tied it.

I then cut out a scalloped sqaure in Garden Green I stamped A Flower For All Seasons on Whisper White and then I punched out a scalloped sqaure and placed it on top of the Garden Green.

A box card for Valentines Day

Good morning all I would just like to say that I have not been able to do any crafting due to having a bad cold. It has left me gasping for breath so I visited the Dr to be told that I had a chest infection. I was given antibiotics, today is day 5 and I am able to breath a little bit better. Training was in Peterborough and 50 ladies came along lots that I had never met before.

We all took swaps along.

My swap was not a card but a brown environmentally friendly sandwich bag. I thought that anything

could be stamped on to it, so it could be used for a number of things.

I stamped some with love hearts, flowers, butterflies and baby things. At a cost of 99p for 10 bags

I feel it's great value. I just hope that Home Bargains don't stop getting them now.

The cards I recieved from swapin' are great, so Iwould like to say,to all those ladies that

came along and swapped with me,thankyou for your great ideas.

I would like to say to Monica and Bekka thankyou for holding these days, they are great as they let us meet up with people that we only know through the internet and we learn new things and,

of course, get to swap ideas.

I would just like to say, a great day had by me.

At the start of the year I posted that I had SU goodies which I had never used. I am now putting

these items to very good use. Every time I make a couple of cards I try to use something I have not used

before. My craft room is becoming over crowded and people have said that maybe I should

sell off some of my old SU goods. But having built up my own library of Stampin Up

stamps sets, and even though some are no longer in the catalogue, I can still make very good use of them when I am playing!

A Valentines card

I used one of the SU Sale a Bration Stamp Sets called Punch a Bunch for the Happy Birthday stamp on Whisper White.
And to punch out the Scalloped Square with the Happy Birthday on i used the SU Scallop Sqaure Punch you can find it on page 105, the Concord Crush across the bottom was punched out with the SU Scalloped Trim Border Punch that you can find on page 105.

I used Poppy Parade, Night of Navy and Whisper White for this little bag.

Using the same Sale a Bration set Punch Bunch I used the owl stamp to put on the front of my bag.

The first card I am going to show you today is one of the Sale -a- Bration set called Punch Bunch.

To aquire these fantastic Sale - a - Bration sets you have to spend £45.00,

For this card I used Concord Crush cardstock for the base.

The cardstock is stamped the with the leaves stamp from the Confetti stamp set £16.95.

I added a sqaure of Pear Pizzazz on top of the Concord Crush and fixed Peach Parfait cardstock.

I stamped the Owl in Concord Crush on the Whisper White.

Just a couple of simple cards.

Today I went into the craft room thinking that I am going to use those scrap bits of cardstock and designer papers that seems to be piling up. The top picture was my first effort. I used the stamp set

"Wedding Sweet"

(Page 43 of the 2010/2011 catalogue.)

For the second card I used designer series paper, layering it onto black then useing stamp set

"Artistic Etchings"

(Page 64 of the 2010/2011 catalogue.)

The congratulations stamp is from a retired set.

A Sample for a friend

A 4 x 4 card just using layers of cardstock then stamping on whisper white.

Cardstock used is SU Regal Rose for the card, layered on top is real red then Whisper White.

I then stamped the Whisper White using SU Melon Mambo ink pad for the swirls and SU Real Red ink pad for the words.

The stamp set used is Wedding Sweet. This set has 7 stamps and can be found on page 43.

Something a little diferent for me

I thought I would try something a little different to what I normally do. However, this year I am going to become a little more adventurous. I decided to use my colour coach to help me put together a card of colours that I personally would never have used together.The colour coach is on page 81 of the current catalogue. It costs £13.50 but is a great product to have to hand. The colour coach shows that I can put Regal Rose Early Espresso, Daffodil Yellow and Whisper White together. This is what I did and here is my card using these colours together.

This card had 4 layers of cardstock: Regal Rose, Early Espresso, Daffodil Yellow and Whisper White.

On the whisper white I used Early Espresso ink and dabbed this on. I repeated this with Daffodil Yellow and then stamped a butterfly from SU stamp set 'Flight of the Butterfly.' (page 68)

The words just for you is a stamp from the SU stamp set 'Just Believe.' (page 57)

I wanted a finishing touch so I added SU Regal Rose grosgrain ribbon. (Page 97)

As you will know, my friend asked if i would create a few sympathy cards.

Here is my next effort!

All the above cards are made with black and white cardstock.

Some have been heat embossed with white on the black.

The other cards present black ink on white cardstock.

These cards are samples for my friend to look at.

Afriend asked me to design a couple of sympathy cards for her.

For this card I used black and white SU card stock.

The flower is a SU hostess stamp set called "Because I Care."

The words on this card are from a retired SU stamp set.

I used an SU scalloped oval punch and an oval punch.

I am sure that my friend will like the above card.

Tomorow I will be making another design for a sympathy card.

I will post a photo as soon as it is made.

A Star's Birthday

Today's card is for someone I think is a star. So what better than this!

This card is a marriage of three colours;

SU cardstock: Not Quiet Navy, Real Red and Whisper White.

Not Quite Navy and Real Red are £6.25 for 40 A4 sheets.

Whisper White is £7.50 FOR 40 A4 sheets.

I liked the combination of the following inks;

Not Quiet Navy,

Real Red,

Night of Navy,

Marine Mist,

Rose Red.

Not Quite Navy receives SU Craft White very well.

At a cost of £7.50, I was impressed.

Although this is a bigger outlay, the punch is a valuable asset to your craft room.

Birthday card

I went into my craft room thinking, I need to make a card. I wanted to make a birthday card for a either gender. I thought and then I thought a bit more. Yes-I used SU cardsstock barley espresso and very vanilla.
The first very vanilla was embossed and then i used SU soft suede ink pad to stamp the engraved greetings on the very vanilla cardstock.

It's a plain and simple card to make.

The stamp set is priced £12.95,

Keeping busy using my new Stampin' Up goodies

All those new Stampin Up goodies that I bought last year are finally getting used. In the latter part of last year I was distracted by all manner of things but I have now got the time to sit down and play!! My friend's birthday is just around the corner. He likes black, like myself, so I decided to use Circle Circus stamp set and a number of circular punshes from SU.

Sale - a - brations stamp set used is Sweet summer

I decided to use one of the sale - a - bration set to show you what you can get free if you spend £45. 00 on Stampin Up products. The stampin up cardsock used was so ridinghood red and so saffron i used a embossing folder on the ridinghood red and stamped on the so saffron.
The inks i used matched the cardstock but i did add wild wasabi for the stems of the flowers, to finish it off i used the oval scallop punch and the oval punch.

A Friday Card

This card was made with all Stampin' Up products cherry cobbler, crumb cake and whisper white cardstock. A pack of A4 smooth cardstock one colour or a mixed pack for £6.25
Ink pads cherry cobbler, crumb cake are £4.95 and a versamark pad. are £5.95
Embossing powder white is £3.75 then a sponge dauber to dab over the 2 large embossed flowers,daubers are12 for £8.75
2 punches used the scalloped oval is £15.50 and the oval punche is £14.25, the stamp set used was vintage vogue wood mounted is £22.95 or clear £17.95.
So if you was to spend £45.00 on some of the above products you would be entitled to choose a free stamp set, so if you are interested in building up your stamp collection then this is the time to go for it.

My first card for 2011

For this card i used Stampin Up cardstock pacific point and whisper white.
I then used Stampin Up pacific point ink pad to stamp the pattern onto the whisper white.
The stamps i used for this card are both out of the Stampin Up set Just Believe.
I then used ribbon for around the bottom of the card.
The Stampin UP set thats i used on this card as got 9 stamps in and it costs £32.95, if you dont want a wooden block set you can have the unmounted to use on clear blocks at a cost of £25.95.

I will firstly apologise for being late getting on my blog, but I wanted to make sure I had a clean start so I could concentrate on crafting. I had a huge clean up in my craftroom and and moved round all the SU goodies I bought in Oct and Nov 2010 but had not had any time to play or find them a home. I have done this over the holiday so I can now go in a play with the goods and my new paper cutter that my hubby got for my birthday in December. I now haven't got any excuses for not going into my craft room and making some nice cards and posting lots of photos and comments on my blog.

Dad passed away 29/11/2010

My husband and I were called late Saturday night by Leeds General Infirmary. A doctor said that they needed to discuss options for dad because he had deteriorated significantly during the day. When we arrived we were told that dad was dying and this was irreversible. The doctor suggested that dad was placed on the Liverpool Care Pathway. This is where all palliative care is removed and no blood tests or observations are done. All the patient receives is very strong opiates to control any pain, and mouth care. This care programme is scheduled to last for four days. My dad passed away yesterday, day 2 of the care programme. We went to Leeds today to try and get the death certificate but we couldn't because there has been a huge death toll with the cold weather. We are going back tomorrow. We have instructed undertakers to make preliminary arrangements for the funeral but a date has yet to be set.

Up date on dad

Firstly dad did not have his operation till Monday the 15th November even though he fell on Saturday the 13th but over the weekend they had other priorities. This was good because dad had is 85th birthday and i did not have to worry if he would get through the anasthetic, The operation went well dad did not have anesthetic so that was great, dad was just confised when James and i visited him.
Had a couple of ups and downs with dad being dehydrated and hallucinating having to be put on drips which is not good for dad he pulls anything out that does not belong to him so causes himself problems but with him being confused its hard to get him to understand.
Since then dad has had to have a blood transfussion, i was made aware that dad had a very rare blood group and they had to send to the National blood transfusion centre in Sheffield for it, after all that dad then starts to be sick through the night and its got blood in it so they need to investigate that but dad is not well enough for a gastroscopy at this minute in time so they are keeping a close eye on that.
We are then informed that dad has got a chest infection so when i said is it a chest infection or pneumonia i was tod pneumonia, so thay are now treating dad for that as well as having to keep him hydrated.
On my way to visit yesterday i received a call from a Dr from heamotology that wanted to meet with me so i said i was on my way so we met up with him. He told me that dad had protein in his blood but this was not something new its shown for a while, anyway i was told that this can usually be cancer but to find out 100% dad would need a bone marrow biopsy from his hip. Dad is far too ill for this so the dr was pleased that i was saying no because he thought it was far too much for dad to cope with now, as if this is correct then he would need chemo and dad is not up for this he is so weak and fragile. The Dr was glad that we were both singing from the same hymn sheet regarding dad's well being.

Got woken up this morning with a call from the nursing home saying dad had fallen.

I was woken to a call from the nursing home to say dad had fallen and was on his way to the Leeds General Infirmary. Dad's broken his hip, collar bone and got pain in his chest nurse said that they had put dad on the list for surgery tomoro but can not promise because if an emergency comes in dad may not go down till Monday.
When i saw him he was calling out with the pain and trying to pull out the catherter, the nurse said she would give him something for the pain but dad said he had been waitng ages so did not believe her.
She came back in about 15 mins and gave dad some morphine to help, within 20 mins he was at ease but moaning i spoke to the Dr about dad and how long the operation would take and he said 2 hours then he would go into recovery.
I do not think that dad is strong enough to go through an operation.of any kind.

Last Supper and farewell to my son and his family.

Ryther Arms photo

Last night was the last meal i would be having with my son Stephen, Kyra and Joshua in this country for sometime. Three generations went out for a meal to one of the familie's favourite eating houses the Ryther Arms, we have celebrated a number of family occassions at the Ryther over many years.
Today we will be taking our Ste and his family to the airport and saying good bye its going to be a hard day and emotions are going to be all over the place, but i want him and his family to be happy even though i will miss them all very much, this photo was just before they went through me saying bye to Joshua.

Today we also found out that dad had got a place in a new home in leeds 9, and will be moving in straight away so will keep you updated. Thankyou for following my blog, hope everyone is well take care luv Paula.

Dad's been seen by psychiatrist and they have now decided on !

Well the last couple of weeks have been a bit of a mess, dad was seen by a psychiatric nurse who said dad should not be at Highfield as they do not have EMI nursing registration, so we should look for somewhere that does offer that so dad would remain on a one to one care basis from 6pm till 8am.
Dr Clarke said he would send another person to check dad out and do a second assessment, this took place on Thursady the 4th November and feed back was definitely that dad would have to move into a EMI nursing home, because dad did have vascular dementia and global Alzheimers and they gave the home a script for dad to be given sleeping tablets for 7 days, both my sister and i said no to sleepers due to what we had been told by Dr Fuller regarding dad been high risk of falls.
2 EMI nursing homes have been out to check on dad and we are awaiting feedback from them, i have just spoken with the social worker and been told that if they decline then we will need to look at other places, this means that this may not be as easy as one thinks. Got feed back and both homes had refused dad for different reasons, so then was given names of EMI nursing homes that supposingly had places and spent 2 days running round looking, to find when i arrived that they did not have places anyway i did get to look at 4 2 of which i would not have touched.
So dad was assessed yesterday by one and will be assessed again today by the other one so i hope that we get a yes otherwise we could be left with him been placed somewhere i do not want, so i will keep my fingers crossed. And due to all the above times gone by and its tomoro my son his partner and my grandson leave to start a new life in New Zealand and to be honest i was hoping to make the best of the time they have been staying with us, but this did not happen i will miss them all so much and am dreading tomoro.

My apologies for not up dating you all

Unbelievable Jan arrived on the 28th Sept from Aus and on the 30th Sept are Ste, Kyra and Joshua moved into our house. We had meetings with Social Workers and other professionals regarding what had happened to dad, we were asked to look for a home for dad to go into when he left hospital.
We found a place and passed it to the Social worker she had to put it through the panel it went through on the 14th Oct so we then had to work it out with the home.
Jan went back to Aus on the 19th so we did not visit dad due to me taking her to the airport, on the 20th i get a call saying dad had a chest infection and they had put him on iv antibiotics. Dr said on the 22nd that the chest infection was almost gone and was still happy to let dad go on Fri 22nd.
Dad would be taken at 10.30 on the 22nd but i got a call to say dad had just left at 11.55am so i knew they would not be there untill 1pm so i rang and said i would visit in arvo, when i got there dad was bad tempered and very unhappy about the undies been tight and causing him pain.
Took off trousers and jocks and replaced with stuff that was not tight he still went on after changing his stuff over, then this morning i got a call from the home saying that dad had been taken to Yok District Hospital because of water retention. We get to the hospital and dad is very bad tempered and swearing lots. Despite dad's history of being catheterised and him pulling it out, they did this and yes he pulled it out! We eventually saw the doctor who was happy for us to take dad back to the home.
So because they could not send him back in an ambulance they said they would get a taxi but he would not have an escort, i said that in that case we would take dad back to the home which we did he looked worn out and very pale.
Am worried that all this is not doing his physical and mental health any good at all. I think this is now getting too much for him and i am worried how much longer he can take this.
